eEnergy supporting Wycliffe College
Wycliffe College approached eEnergy with the want to upgrade their lighting without the initial capital outlay. After working with eEnergy, Wycliffe College were able to improve their lighting system with no upfront cost, also reducing annual lighting cost from £116,310 to £40,600.
About Wycliffe College
Wycliffe College located in the outskirts of Stonehouse, Gloucestershire sits on 52 acres of countryside. Comprising of Nursery school for ages 2-4 , a preparatory school for ages 4-13 and Senior school for ages 13-18, resulting in a total of over 800 pupils enrolled within the school.
The challenge
Following the audit carried out, existing lighting indicated aging and lack of quality. Implementing strain and discomfort for both students and teachers. Due to the low lighting quality, there were more energy needed to power increasing maintenance costs although there were high levels of lighting failures.
The solution
It is important to establish accurate baseline to any saving calculations. To calculate and implement accuracy, specialists at eEnergy implemented industry recognized mathematical formula to recognise ‘burn hours’ of each lighting circuit to further implement the most efficient lighting solution.
The results
- Total net savings of £75,710 within the first year
- Equivalent of £306,529 (33%) over 7 years
- 10 year total savings of £635,840, adding up to 65% cost reduction
- Changes made supports carbon emission reduction by 100.3 tCO2e equal to 4,776 trees.
- Presented with high quality LED solutions
- Require zero capital investment to enable this solution.
